TRUST FALL - Dyed In The Wool - NEW COLORWAY!

Ok, sentimentality alert:

When my very dear friend Andrea Mowry told me that she would be the keynote speaker for the VKL NYC gala dinner, I was so proud of her! She is one of the hardest working creatives I know, and I also knew that her gala talk would knock it out of the park. (It did, btw, and thank goodness all eyes were on her because I was over there ugly crying through most of it, when I wasn’t dying laughing. It was amazing.) But back to gala prep. Imagine how hard I fell out when she asked me to dye a special colorway for gala attendees. NO PRESSURE!

Andrea sent me some really pretty mood boards. (She’s great with color, if y’all hadn’t noticed!) In my process, when I am developing a new colorway with a yarn shop or a designer, I like to have a lot of back and forth. I want to make sure I’m nailing the vibe, not just the colors. But when I sent pics of my color trials for feedback, Andrea said “I trust you.” I checked in again later, after a few tweaks, and again, “I trust you.” Y’all. Is that not the greatest compliment a dyer could ever receive? And yes, if you didn’t heed my sentimentality warning and have read this far, is that not the final word on friendship?

You will receive a skein from this colorway, but not the exact skein pictured. • Due to our “dyed in the wool” process, each skein we produce is unique, even within a dyelot. • If you have specific color preferences, please leave a note in the box at checkout. • We recommend buying your entire yardage requirement for your project in the same transaction, so that we can hand select skeins that match.

For high contrast colorwork, we recommend steam blocking to avoid color transfer. • Some dyes are notoriously difficult to set, and may exhaust some color even after our final wash. • Please keep this in mind if you are combining any hand dyed yarn with a light color in the same project. • If you plan to combine a hand dyed yarn, especially a very saturated colorway, with a lighter yarn, we suggest you test your darker skeins for possible color transfer by soaking them first. • To wash your knitwear, a quick cold water dip with a no-rinse wool wash is recommended.
